We have been on the bennyandthejets.com Band message board and the topic came up there is no "Benny and the Jets Band discography" on the world wide web? I think there was on the old Jet site but I guess I need to repost it and forward it around the world via the web BENNY (ps feel free to help me forward this and post it around the web)

This eight-song cassette-only issue finds the Detroit-based oldies-band trio putting the pedal to the metal on this, their third self-produced outing. Unlike their other two outings from the 1970s and '80s (studio and live), this one features twice as many guest artists as there are members of the actual band! But you never lose sight of just who the stars are here, and as the combo struts their way through numbers like "Dumb Girls" and "Bad Motor Scooter," it becomes obvious that the band has a real love for the type of material they attack. Even over-recorded gems like "Wipe Out," "Last Kiss" and "Li'l Red Riding Hood" shine with a verve that seldom show up on this kind of slugfest. Most telling of all amidst all the cover tunes, however, is Benny's original "This Old Face," the headline of the Detroit News newspaper story 9-12-80 that tells more about Benny's life as a hometown hero and rock musician.

Merry X-mas

This 6-song EP is a music Xmas card from Benny and The Jets Band to you. The album is full of sonic frolic as it is a smiling, joking, dare I say jovial seasons greets. The opening mock-live "X-mas Boogie" sets the mood: rocking and hilarious. "X-mas Wish" is a reggae Xmas tune that I wish I had known about years ago when I was substituting on a reggae radio show on Xmas Eve and a caller requested Xmas music, but I did not want to break form too much. The album is full of funny asides and soundbites, like the "brrr" in the background of " what fun it is to ride/In a one horse open sleigh" on "X-mas Bells". The real standout track here, though, is the yuletide genius of "X-mas Dittie". It is, with sax solo, a medley of "Who Do You Love?", "Hey, Bo Diddley" as "Hey, Santa Clause" and "Hush Little Baby (The Mockingbird Song)" with its lyrics of buying diamond rings and more. (4)
